Diabetics at Pizza Hut

Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.

Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:

You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.

Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

This place has some of the best burritos that you'll ever find in town. Every time I go in, I have never experienced a bad burrito. I always ask them to put a little queso sauce for the perfect taste. Adding chips is the perfect complement to a good burrito. It is the icing on the cake.

Ok, so they make burritos. But why are you charging me like $15 bucks for a burrito and soda. Save you money and find a small Mexican joint that will use quality food indigents for 1/2 the price. That's why your using yelp people. Go someplace else and store feeding the corporations.... Sadly I had to go with friends that wanted to hit this place up. Never again...

Good food, but when I went today I ordered a super felony and my friend ordered the misdemeanor, but hers was a little bigger than mine.

  • Edna L.

Meh! As others have said, not a Chipotle or Moe's. I've been twice and my burrito was cold both times. I got charged extra for adding mushrooms. Better places to eat.

I manage to get dragged in here by coworkers every few months, and some of them seem to really like it, but I can't figure out why. I like everything about the concept -- Chipotle and others manage to pull it off pretty well. Biggest gripe here is the taste of the food. It's mediocre at very best and can be downright gross at worst. For the price, there are loads of better options in town. This place is cheap in all the wrong ways. "Cheap" Mexican/Tex-Mex food can still taste awesome. Friendly staff, for what it's worth.

My husband and I tried this place last night due to its proximity to where we were. It was AWFUL. The food is poor quality, the restaurant is dirty and to make it even worse the prices are ridiculous. We eat at Chipotle and normally for a meal it costs about 15 dollars for quality ingredients. This was 20 bucks and it sucked really bad. I don't even like the name. I couldn't wait to finish a few bites of the food so I wouldn't be starving and get the hell away from there. Nasty. Don't waste your time.

So when I first moved here from California (about 6 months ago) the first thing I asked my husband was if there was a Chipotle anywhere near us. And he laughed and said no but said that there's a similar restaurant named Izzo's. I was pretty skeptical because I'm a firm believer and fan of Chipotle so when I finally decided to give Izzo's a try, I was pleasantly surprised! Their burritos (if you get the right combo) taste almost identical to Chipotle! The staff seemed a bit worn out and depressed but that didn't stop me from enjoying my huge delicious burrito. Definitely will be coming back!

So I tried this place out for about the 3rd or 4th time. Again I was very disappointed. You might ask why do I keep going back? It's just that I miss Chipotle so much and I know that everyone has bad days. I've given this place multiple chances now and they definitely deserve the 1 star. My rice is like little rocks. 1 piece is fine and the next almost breaks your tooth. This I've realized is the standard at Izzo's so I eat very carefully. The steak, is half burnt as usual. The employees never seem too happy, but then again I wouldn't be happy serving this type of mediocre food either. Don't waste your money here. I know they won't be getting another cent from me.

Big fresh servings. I love to choose my own toppings (I usually get a burrito bowl but 3 sizes of burritos are offered). So many toppings & a few salsas to choose & even our vegan friend would eat here. Good fast service too. (Not sure how ppl can compare this to Chipotle, they were so bland. Almost as good as Mission Burrito, which was my fav in Houston).

So we came back from last weekend ad I LOVE burritos! First thing bad was the young lady helping us appeared to be in a bad mood. Whispered when she talked and barely made eye contact with us. Then the chips were under cooked and greasy, really greasy...at least Vonda's street tacos and my shrimp burrito were yummy. Ingredients were very fresh...too bad young lady was in bad mood...kinda ruined the meal for me along with those nasty chips.....

  • Vonda P.

Reminds me of Chipotle, except the burritos are HUGE! Hubby accidentally ordered the illegal size (he wanted the middle size and there was a misunderstanding I guess...).. and ended up with a 1 ft long burrito that he couldn't finish (Cost 14.99). I had the pork burrito bowl at around 8 bucks and it could have easily fed two people. I had to throw a lot of it away unfortunately since it was just wayyyyyyy too much food for me. I like the fact that they put only what you want on your order, so you can customize it with the veggies, as little or as much as you want. The place was clean, except for the tables which needed to be wiped down. (We got there at noon so they were pretty busy.) The pork was spicy and I didn't even have to put jalapenos on it. It had a heavy flavor of black pepper which I love. Everything was really fresh so overall, I was happy with this place.

  • Matt G.

The burritos were ok, not as good as Freebirds or Chipotle. The main reason for the low score is because of the cleanliness of the restaurant. All the tables were pretty messy and so was the work area where they make the burritos. Worst of all, we saw a roach on the glass by the burrito toppings. This place needs a good cleaning before I would venture back.

  • Heather L.

Overpriced!! Mediocre food and the staff rush you thru the line so dang quick I felt like an farm animal being forced thru those guardrail things. NEVER going back!!!

  • Cesar G.

If you think you are getting chipotle quality you are wrong. This price is more expensive and has not taste. The only reason its in service is because Lake Charles has no quality Mexican food. If you have a craving for Mexican food your best of going to Houston.

  • Casey C.

If you're not familiar with Izzo's, I would highly recommend you stop by their location (across from the Prien Lake mall) in LC and enjoy one of the awesome burritos. Five stars don't come easy with me.... Hundreds of possibilities could be formed from their 5 basic ingredients made from scratch in-house. Some may think it's a little pricey for a burrito, but it is so worth it and Soooo good. To compare this place to Taco Bell is a slap in the face. I'm no spicy fanatic, and would rather have flavor over heat, but I think they should offer a hotter salsa.

  • Alex F.

I think this is the best restaurant in Lake Charles for the value! And the food is really good, it is much like Chipotle or Moe's ! Two loaded tacos for 8 dollars! They have about 10 different thing you can put on them! I dunno, if I seem to be the only one that has a hard time finding a good value around here, but the best value if have found thus far!

  • Philip L.

I love Izzo's! If you want a good quick burrito, tacos, or nachos, this is the place to be! Forget Taco Bell or any other fast food joint. You get to pick from a great selection of hot-off-the-grill meats(not reheated junk) and fresh vegetables to assembly the meal of your choice. Unlike many fast food places where the lettuce is pulled out of a week old bag and your frozen chicken is thawed in a microwave. You can see and taste the difference. I will pay extra money for quality food, and that's what you get here. I don't work for these people, so don't think I'm trying to drum up business at my location. I just really like their product!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
